Human Soundcheck’s Guide to Losing Weight
Putting in the effort but still struggling to lose weight?
If you're eating healthier, cutting back, exercising, or trying the things that worked before but the weight still isn't coming off, doing more isn't necessarily the answer. The bigger question may be where to focus.
This guide helps you see what may be getting in the way, and what to do about it.
Inside, you’ll discover:
- The connections that are easy to miss when weight-loss advice is looked at one piece at a time
- Why something that seems like a perfectly healthy choice may deserve a second look
- What may be worth paying attention to when your effort isn't producing the result you expected
- Why the obvious explanation isn't always the most useful one
- How to tell where making a change may actually make a difference

Less Trial and Error. More Direction.
You can spend hours researching weight loss, watching videos, reading articles, or asking AI detailed questions and come away with dozens of things you could try. The harder part is knowing which information is useful, how the pieces fit together, and what to actually do with it.
This guide has already done much of that work for you. The information has been filtered and organized through the perspective of a holistic health practitioner who works one-on-one with clients, backed by years of education, professional training, and continued study in nutrition, herbalism, physiology, stress, and whole-person health.
Instead of another rabbit hole to go down, you get the connections, recommendations, and direction to help you make better decisions about what to do next.
Can you relate to any of these?
- The things that used to work for me don’t seem to work anymore.
- I feel like my body has changed, and I don't know what it needs now.
- I’ve read so much conflicting advice that I don’t know what to believe anymore.
- I don’t want another diet. I want to know what actually matters.
- I’m tired of trying something new, hoping this will be the thing that finally works.
- I’m trying to eat better, but the weight still isn’t coming off.
This guide is different. It shows you the connections most weight-loss advice leaves out, challenges some of the things you thought you knew, and gives you a different way to decide what to do next.
“The goal isn’t to find the next miracle product. The goal is to create the conditions that allow the body’s own systems to function the way they were designed to.”

Inside the Guide:
You probably know a lot already. Eat better. Move more. Watch the sugar. Get enough protein. Drink water. Sleep. Manage stress. And let's not forget... count calories. Google can tell you all that. So can AI, and 1,000 YouTube videos.
But knowing all of that doesn't tell you why you're putting in the effort and not getting the result you expect.
That's the part we are interested in here.
This guide goes beyond what you're supposed to do and gets into what may actually be happening in the body.
You'll explore things like:
- Why normal blood sugar doesn't always tell the whole story
- What the body's two fuel-storage systems have to do with storing fat and accessing the fuel you've already stored
- Why hunger and appetite aren't the same thing, and how knowing the difference can change when and why you eat
- How a breakfast that sounds perfectly “healthy” can provide an entire day's carbohydrate target before lunch
- Why the amount and type of carbohydrates you eat matter, without making carbohydrates the enemy
- Why completely different approaches to eating can all produce results, and what that can teach you about finding something that actually works for your life
Also included: The separate 10-page Companion Resource PDF
You'll also receive a separate 10-page Companion Resource if you'd like to take what you've learned a little further. It includes my nutritional support recommendations organized by common needs and goals, trusted resources for understanding glycemic index, additional recommended reading, and other useful tools and information you can refer back to.

Meet Jamie D.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing a lot of things right and still can’t understand why your weight isn’t responding the way you expect, I hear you. I’ve worked with many people who are frustrated by exactly that, especially when they’re already trying to eat well, stay active, and take care of their health.
One of the things I’ve learned is that weight is rarely as simple as people are led to believe. Food matters, of course, but so do things like blood sugar, hormones, stress, digestion, metabolism, nutrient status, sleep, appetite, activity, and the way these factors can influence one another. That’s a big part of why sorting through weight-loss advice can become so frustrating.
My work in holistic health has been shaped by years of formal education, professional training, hands-on practice, research, and independent study. I’m a Certified Nutritionist Counselor, Certified Clinical Master Herbalist, Certified B.E.S.T. Practitioner, and Certified Coach, and I continue to advance my formal education and training in holistic health.
Beyond my formal education and certifications, I’ve spent hundreds of hours in seminars and professional trainings and years studying nutrition, stress, energy, and whole-person health. Working directly with clients in my practice has added another layer that books and classrooms can’t provide: seeing how differently people can respond to similar circumstances and why the same approach doesn’t necessarily work the same way for everyone.
Those conversations are also a big part of why I created this guide. When I explain these things to clients, one of the comments I hear again and again is, “Why has no one ever explained it like this to me before?” And once it makes sense, the questions usually become much more practical: What should I eat? What should I be paying attention to? What are the most important things I can actually do?
I wanted to put those explanations, and the practical answers that follow them, into one resource people could use on their own.
My work has also been published in The Natural Living Journal, and I continue to develop guides, courses, and other educational resources designed to make complex health concepts practical, approachable, and easier to understand.
